Italian Lakes - Day 1 - Folkestone to Bad-Durkheim

An early start, left Holiday Inn Express at 06.15 to drive the couple of miles to Le Shuttle Terminal. All checked in and grouped together at the far end of the terminal car park.

Most of us got on the train together, but on leaving the train we all regrouped at the first petrol station.
Today was a matter of putting miles behind us. 1 fuel stop, and later off the motorway in to the Eifle National Park for a lunch stop at Monschau, a very pretty town by the river with cobbled streets.

Left here at 2.30, and continued driving through the Eifle National Park and the Mossel vineyards before rejoining the motorway.

We have already driven in 4 countries today - England, France, Belgium & Germany.

At 16.50 it was time for our 2nd fuel stop before continuing to Bad-Durkhiem where we were staying for the night arriving at 6.30pm.

All met up at 7.15 for a walk around the park and town which was very interesting with its unique water filter, before finding a nice Italian restaurant for dinner.

416 miles driven today.
