Welcome new "Sally" - Porsche 911 (997) Turbo Cabriolet

After quite a sleepless night with excitement, we left home at about 08.45 to drive to Five Ashes to collect Martin's new car.

It was with great sadness that we were saying goodbye to the Carrera as we had had a lot of fun in her over the last 14 months, but also very excited at collecting her replacement.

After all the formalities & paperwork, Martin was given the keys.

"Sally" is now a 2008 Porsche 911 (997) Turbo which has only logged 33, 073 miles

Unfortunately the weather was not nice for  our first drive in her.  It was damp and miserable with very low cloud.

We drove to Joanna & Ben's for coffee & doughnuts.  After a chat and catch up drove along the coast and up to Beachy Head where it was very foggy, stoping off for lunch at Cuckmere Haven.

After lunch following the coast to Newhaven , then inland along the A27 to Findon for a cup of tea at Dorian's.

It was then time to drive home.

Once home, although she had only traveled a few miles, she was washed before being put a way in her new home.

We are looking forward to some nice weather this summer so we can really enjoy going out for some exciting drives in "Sally"

Goodbye Sally"

After visiting several garages last weekend viewing 3 cars - all the same model, similar age, and mileage cars - although all 3 very different, we fell in love with one of them and left a deposit.

So today is a very sad day, when we say goodbye to "Sally"  the Porsche 911 (997) Carrera 2 S.

Over the last 14 months we have had a lot of fun in her and a fantastic driving holiday to the Italian Lakes

Ready to leave for her final drive to Five Ashes.

Goodbye "Sally" :( :(

Catch up

Other than a few day drives over the weekends "Sally" has been wrapped up in the garage most of the winter.

On Saturday March 21st we went on a Porsche Club GB R23 meeting at Precision Porsche in Sheffield Park.  Coffee, bacon rolls etc. and a look round the workshops, & bodyshop - chatting to the engineers.  Lots of cars there for the event, some very old & unusual.

We were one of the lucky ones to be selected for a free one hour health check on the car.

Which I am very please to say, she passed with flying colours, with just a couple of minor recommendations.

After this we then drove to a specialist Porsche dealership............................
